The DMHSAEA is a non-profit organization founded in 2005. We fund proposals from DMHS and JDMS teachers and administrators and from community organizations to create and implement new academic activities. Our grants are awarded on a rolling basis with no submission deadlines. We are most interested in supporting novel activities to lead students' minds in new directions, but we also support ongoing activities with limited other sources of funding.
We have raised our funds to date via philanthropic gifts, entertainment events, direct-mail campaigns, website donations, and via t-shirt sales and cash donations at our annual barbecue and at class reunions. Our Board of Directors and other staff work on a purely volunteer basis and our operating overhead is less than 5 percent of our budget. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.

We have no formal system of membership and all alumni are welcome at our meetings to contribute ideas and energy. We hope to recruit additional Board members from a variety of class years and we welcome volunteers who may be able to devote only limited time. See our Contact or Volunteer page.
