DMHSAEA's New "We've Got Your Back" Program

No matter how well-funded, well-intentioned or well-organized a school district may be, there are sometimes shortfalls in classroom supplies that can interfere with learning.  Teachers, professionals that they are, often buy these themselves and do not expect to be reimbursed.

The DMHSAEA is changing that because teachers: "We've Got Your Back."

Since September 2021, the DMHSAEA has offered to reimburse each DMHS teacher up to $100 per semester for out-of-pocket expenditures for classroom supplies.

Teachers should download our simple reimbursement request form by CLICKING HERE

They should complete the form, add images of the receipts to the bottom, and return it by email to DMHSAEA Board member Andrea Morrisey (sunshine6407631@gmail.com) with "We've Got Your Back" as the subject.

Our treasurer will send a check by US Mail directly to the teacher.

The application form is also being distributed on paper to teachers' mailboxes, but requests must be scanned and emailed to us.

Our Regular Grants
Please see below for a full list of our funded projects to date.

Application Instructions:

We use a rolling application process.  There are no application deadlines and we will evaluate applications within two months in most cases.

We may ask for revisions before funding, so if you want the funds to be available in time for the start of an academic year, submit the application by the end of April.  If you need the funds for January, submit the application by the end of October.  However, applications submitted later may still be fundable in time for your target date if no major changes are needed.

The current version of the application is at the link below -- or request one from DMHSAEA Board member Larry Golbe (golbe@rutgers.edu).

More detailed instructions appear on the application form.
